Went to dinner with this 8 year old’s family and my family. She was reading this thick book. I asked her about it.
Me: How do you like it?
Lilly: I, I really like it.
Me: Who is your most favorite character?
Lilly: Um, the main character.
Me: Me too! Who is the character you dislike the most?
Lilly: Snape.
Me: Oh, but he’s my favorite as well.
Lilly smiles and I can see her thoughts drifting into asking me why, then resumes reading the book.
